Gail Pickering – An abandoned night club transforms into a temporary bird sanctuary. Plastic battery powered seagulls noisily grinding in circular motion suspended from nylon cables.Imported and nurtured by the bird keeper. Feeding them with electric charge, giving them motion, fixing them as their mechanism fail:a continuous pursuit. An ephemeral trading point. As quickly as it arrived,it disappeared.

“Can I buy one of the flying birds?”

“It’s a trade, a bird for a bird.”

“You want me to catch a bird?”

“Yes”

“I can’t catch a bird!”

“You could try.”

Pauses, ”I could bring a chicken?”
