Human living
is preoccupied with permanent,unavoidable or unimportant decisions, definitions
and classifications. The decision always needs idea purity preventing
contradiction, coincidence or discontinuity. Making a decision means
to say “yes” or “no” with no considering all the consequences
which often disable us to identify ourselves later when we make a decision. The
principle of polar circle i.e. harmonic team of extremities can be achieved by
synthesis which change able presence, equal floating between two poles . That
particular “floating” between two poles enables removing the boundaries
between high and low forms of art which prevents binary opposition of what is
good and not good, nice and not nice, what is in order and disorder, white and
not white, rational and irrational so irony, parody and play can be emphasized
as a result of that apparent unstability, provisionality. Instead of beginning
and end we get multiciplity of things which change their character by their
structure changing so instead of appearing binary oppositions and dichotomies,
interpreting of reality as dynamic, heterogenous but not dichotomous one can be
seen.
The idea of heterogeneity and dichotomy can be
even remarked in paganism age and in both Indian and western philosophy. In
Paganism,gods and nature have been identified as the unique wholeness during
which difference of elements has been lost. Such a “thing” possessing the
attribute-wholeness,indivisibility resulting in dividing the original wholeness
in two:existing – nonexisting, mortality-immortality,day-night, does exist in
Indian philosophy as well, in which the things such as, for instance, breathing and not breathing at the same time, do exist; or according to
Nietzsche the principles of multiplicity and discontinuity that can be achieved
by joining affirmation and negation of “yes” and “no” be remarked.
As eternal prisoners of the casual world where
law of oppositions, death vision and fear from death are in control,we humans
could be transformed only if we were transferred from the world discontinuity
into world which is negation of binary opposition and division world, free from
loneliness,alienation and death fear, to be integrated in the general life
continuity not having life in death opposition but, on the contrary, both
representing one wholeness..
All the works
included in this Symposium/Exhibition contain implication of two extreme things
at the same time becoming more significant and comprising many aspects of
everyday living and not neglecting it but, on the contrary, emphasizing of the
place where they have been created.
Their ephemerality was in accordance with
illusion of existing and at the
same time non-existing audience. Preoccupation with the very creation, the
course of the work but not with the final goal, created such a kind of
atmosphere where the real character of the works was clearly defined. The
artists’ intention to create more simple works that will be revealed totally
has been successful. Living and working at particular place and in particular
time they have experienced them as a sublimation way of their own previous and
present ideas. The venue was experienced as a homeland of the former ancient
venue, an opposition place of ancient and modern, absurd and search of sense (no
sense), but also a street space for (non) communication even manipulating with
group of people incidently chosen. Provoking the own visual consciousness can
lead to engaged attack on object and the engaged questions involving the own
history and philosophy into a new enviroment introduce another form of the idea
intending to direct the incident passers deliberately to extremely unexpected
surroundings transformed in temporary place of exchange. The decision opposing
law shows and proves one thing-that boundaries only exist in our heads and in
order to release from them we need to release the most liberate one-the artist,
and to achieve that we need to be free from life and death. Boundaries existing
which is obvious especially in sexuality causes unexpected reactions while
despair in cases of political provocation.
Nevertheless, neither any philosophical
consideration and analysis nor intellectual clearness are necessary but only
original ideas in order to feel that which really has a meaning of multiciplity.
Whenever it is created it will be existing and it has been created and lived
within the works of this mutual project.
