The
project is built around a story, a kind of self-examination of
my fear of heights - hypsiphobia, starting with my realization
of the fear, through other anecdotal personal examples of it,
ending with my facing with the fear itself, by riding a Ferris
wheel. The project was conceived as a therapy (symptoms,
diagnose, therapy, healing), through which execution I was
supposed to overcome my fear. As
I've previously done in other projects of mine, again here, I
redirected to the audience the questions I myself try to
resolve, by asking them to take active role in the project.
The text-with-photo layouts were mounted unusually high on the
walls. Ladders were placed under this layouts (Skopje MoCA),
or scenic real life situations when one has to climb (picking
fruits, reaching for a book etc.) were arranged, so, the
visitors had to climb in order to see and read the individual
layouts. Thus, some of them had to confront their own fear of
height, and overcame it. |
