Please
note the difference between a fake ID-card and a freely
invented one. The fake takes on form and contents of the
really existing document with manipulated data. A freely
invented document refers to existing document in terms of form
and maybe contents, but without copying them. This, however,
does not mean that a freely developed document has to look
less credible than a faked one. The success of the imagined document depends on the information deficit. Only those who do not recognize the fake, will accept the document. It has became a fact that
there are a lot of people running- around with fake
ID-cards, but with different intentions. In Oliver Musovik, a
passion was set aflame. He
invents press cards, which he fabricates very skillfully in
order to make them look real in every aspect.
The press agencies, which are indicated on the cards,
do not exist. But
still, no one would have any doubts: "Macedonian Press
International" sounds really good. (But take care with
this card in Macedonia!) Oliver Musovik uses his
press cards abroad. He
visits museums and exhibition spaces for free, is gladly
welcomed by the press departments and usually obtains an
exhibition catalogue. He
has a respectful list of successes and is also very pleased to
show it. He
meticulously lists all the places he has visited. Special events are treated very proudly.
Actually it is the eagerness of a little boy who is
pleased about some little, successful tricks, and in fact
proudly aware of the applied perfection.
But there is always a pleasant naiveté, leading to
questions such as: "Please look at Tito's fake Canadian
and Swedish passports. And
he later became a respected president of a country.
So, if he could do something like this, why can't
I?"
