Aim The project 1111 Portrait is envisioned as a cooperation or work on a mutual project of a Fine Artist and a Curator, i.e. of the project team. The idea for this way of production is guided by the intention to strengthen the co-operation between these, by their nature mostly opposed, fields of acting - artistic creation and fine arts critique. The goal is to create a unified (and not common) artistic product as a result of the influence and the intention of the curator over the artist who then, opposing to the "dictate", will find solutions which will change these influences and intentions in the sense of an interactive and creative exchange process between the artist and the curator. The project is led with the intention to receive a work of art signed by the project team.

Theme 1111 signifies the number of Artists (11) and Curators (11), which will take part in this project. The theme for this years, fourth annual exhibition of SCCA - Skopje is Portrait. The basic intention is to explore this, in recent times, neglected motif by the members of the current generation of artists, counting on the need of reexamination and valorization of artistic approaches which lately on the surface grasp the motifs of the works in the recent artistic practice, and intending to once more place the same again in the center of the artistic and critics interest as artistic and theoretical provocation. The motif portrait is understood in the widest sense of its artistic and theoretic interpretation.

Medium The artwork, which should result from this co-operation, can be realized in any medium or several media, i.e. the project team has been left the freedom of choice of the medium or the way of artistic transposition. The limitation is applies only to the condition that the project is not to be previously or at other occasions realized.

Each of the 4 outside members of the Board has for a task to lead as a mentor one young Curator in the period of the preparation and the realization of the project (additional 4 curators).
